The Reno Academy is led by people who have spent years in the real-world trades right here in Toronto. We teach from experience, with genuine care for our students and high standards for the work.
Paul Switzeny, Administrator
Paul is an entrepreneur who founded a busy Toronto renovation and handyman company in 2010, after going through a major home renovation himself and struggling to find reliable, professional help. Along the way he saw a systemic problem in the trades: skilled workers were too often taught bad habits and treated poorly. He built The Reno Academy to change that, teaching the right skills the right way in a stable, supportive environment where anyone willing to learn can grow. Outside of work, Paul is a keen cook and an avid runner.
Justin Mohammed, Head Coach
Justin leads instruction at The Reno Academy, bringing years of hands-on residential construction experience to every cohort. Family-oriented and grounded in the belief that respect is earned, not given, he is known for patient, practical coaching that meets students where they are. Justin is passionate about raising the standard in the trades and treating every job, and every learner, with genuine care.
